Details

Prior to any deportation planes taking off, Judge Boasberg (chief judge of the United States District Court for DC) ordered that 5 men who initiated a lawsuit not be deported. He scheduled another hearing that evening to discuss the planes themselves.

During a break in the hearing, as a Trump official was meant to check on the status of the flights, the Trump administration put 2 planes in the air.

Judge Boasberg ordered that all planes stay grounded or return to the US. Both planes in the air continued to El Salvador, and a third plane left for El Salvador.

The president of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, posted on social media, "Oopsie... too late 😂".
