Details
Trump issued an executive order against Perkins Coie that sought to eliminate contracts and security clearance for the law firm and bar employees from federal buildings and jobs.
In 2016, Perkins Coie performed work for Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign. Perkins Coie hired Fusion GPS to do opposition research on Donald Trump, who in turn hired Christopher Steele. Steele wrote a dossier alleging collaboration between the Trump campaign and Russia to interfere with the 2016 election and leaked details to news outlets a week before the election.
A judge would later rule that the executive order violated the First, Fifth, and Sixth Amendment to the Constitution.
