Details

A leaked memo revealed the Trump administration aims to reduce the VA by 17%. DOGE laid off over 1,000 VA employees in February, and over 14,000 applied for the adminstration's buyout and early retirement options. This includes more than 1,700 nurses and 200 physicians. A wave of resignations at the Danville VA Medical Center already led to the closure of their acute care unit.
