Trump issued an executive order against WilmerHale that sought to eliminate contracts and security clearance for the law firm and bar employees from federal buildings and jobs.
The executive order cited WilmerHale's employment of Robert Mueller and colleagues, who lead the Special Counsel investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election. It also criticized WilmerHale for taking on clients for suits related to DEI, immigration, and voting. Finally, it accused WilmerHale of discriminatory hiring practices.
Rating justification
A similar executive order against Perkins Coie was found to be unconstitutional for violation of the First, Fifth, and Sixth Amendment.
